I really like the minimal user interface with qutebrowser, it only shows you the essential elements and information, in the least distracting way possible. The graphical user interface is a bit too overwhelming. There’s also no way to copy the website title with any keybinding. There’s no way to access the bookmarks via any keybindings. And it gets old rather quickly when you’re forced to do this a billion times per day. This forced me to move my right hand over to the mouse, and then click on any dead area on the website to be able to use the keybindings. The addressbar in Firefox stole all the focus all the time. While I could use keybindings for a lot of things, unfortunately, some basic things didn’t work at all. The Vimium addon is a good addon (for what it is), but it’s simply not good enough for me. It took me about a week before I was back with qutebrowser again. Previous: KnowBrainer Hybrid Plantronics CS55.Back in August, I wrote about how I was tired of QtWebEngine and that I was switching to Firefox with Vimium to emulate a similar mouse-less workflow. ![]() #Firefox mouseless addon mac#I'd love to use voice recognition with IE6/7 if it actually worked on my system.ġ 1 1 1MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, or Mac Mini -> OS X Leopard -> VMware Fusion -> XP SP2 Home -> KnowBrainer 2007 Command Software, DNS 9.5 Preferred, Steelcase Leap Chair. Very easy to select bookmarks by voice too. #Firefox mouseless addon install#It's useless even after fresh install of XP SP2 with updates and with just DNS installed. ![]() Many thanks to Lunis and all the posters who contributed to that thread and contributed the command scripts.ĮDIT: Why go through all the trouble? Why not use IE6/7 instead? Because on my system IE6/7 does not work well at all. If not, then that's what this forum is for. I don't know for sure.īest of all the Mouseless Browser addon to Firefox is free. Lunis had mentioned in that thread that the KnowBrainer version works faster. All I know is that there are KnowBrainer forum members who use one or the other, and they seem very happy with it. #Firefox mouseless addon professional#I have never used the DNS Professional version, so I can't say which option above #1 or #2 works better or faster. There is a text file on that thread that has a list of numbers in sequential order from 1-1000. Again instructions and screen shots are in the thread link. A command script and a listing script for numbers 1-1000. For the Mouseless Browsing command described, two separate scripts need to be made. My programming background is just a BASIC programming class in high school decades ago. This advice applies to DNS Professional Advanced Scripting too. #Firefox mouseless addon how to#KnowBrainer does come with a very good VerbalBasic instruction manual to help users learn how to create and customize commands, but I think some very basic knowledge of programming would help. For Mouseless Browsing Addon to work well with DNS, one either needsġ) DNS Professional (KnowBrainer not required) Some commands may need to be customized to one's workflow or software. Most all of the prebuilt commands work perfectly out of the box. That's why many DNS Professional users also use KnowBrainer. #Firefox mouseless addon software#It is macro/command software that allows users of DNS Preferred to make macros/commands. That's where KnowBrainer software comes in. DNS Preferred does not have this feature, and it is one reason why it is around $600-800 less expensive. The thread has command instructions for both DNS Professional and for KnowBrainer command software.ĭNS Professional has as a feature Advanced Scripting that allows users to create custom commands/macros. In the link in my signature are exact scripting commands to allow voice activation of the link #s and the Enter. Link navigation can be performed manually, without voice recognition, by keyboarding the link # followed by Enter. Once Mouseless Browsing Addon is installed, all links on a web page will have a number next to it. Mouseless Browsing Addon was originally created to allow the user to quickly select web page links using the keyboard number pad. Browsing the Internet was a major source of my RSI, and browsing the web by voice has really helped my RSI. I'm a bit confused by the question, so I'll post a "long version" that might be helpful for all DNS newbies. I wanted to post the answer to an email I got from Patrick on the forum in case it can help others. ![]() Do you just recommended it for DNS Preferred? Or does it just work good with Professional and Knowbrainer? Question from KnowBrainer Forum Member atrickpay:Įmail Hi: I was just looking over your recommendations in more detail, and I've got a question regarding the mouseless browsing in Firefox. ![]()
